This presentation will be of help to those of you who teach reading to 6- and 7-year-olds. We will look inside the “Academy Stars” Pupil's Book to see some examples and to explore some helpful techniques. You will also learn how to make reading activities more physical and involving.
16.00 – 17.00 Session 2: “Be a Star in Grammar”, presenter Nina Sisei, Macmillan Ukraine methodologist
This talk will focus on two main issues. First, we will have a look at an innovative approach to teaching grammar in the primary classroom, which helps to make the process of teaching grammar more effective and attractive for young learners. Second, I’ll share practical ideas and examples of activities and resources which can be used to provide enough practice in your primary classroom.
17.00 – 18.00 Session 3: “Tips for Assessment”, presenter Inna Nestoiter, Macmillan Ukraine methodologist
School (even online) cannot exist without assessment. But is it only about standardized tests? When and why do we assess our learners? In this session we will talk about how a range of assessment methods and tools can help teachers better support primary school students. You will learn how to plan your lessons not to limit the growth of your students but to ensure their constant development, with the focus on the individual performance and needs of your students.
